  1. Vitamin C:

Vitamin C is a must-have supplement to be including into your daily regime this Spring 2020. It is a well-known nutrient for immune system support. Despite commonly being portrayed as unfounded medical advise in the mainstream media, studies on vitamin C have reported that vitam C kills viruses in vitro (outside of a living organism) irrespective of its nuceic acid type, host strain, size, morphology, serological grouping, and other characteristics.

In case you still have doubts, based on early promising reports that vitamin C has been helping people that have been hardest hit by COVID-19 in China, the New York Post is reporting that New York hospitals are now treating COVID-19 patients with vitamin C (click here to link to article). The reason is because they're finding that vitamin C levels drop dramatically in COVID-19 patients with sepsis. Sepsis is an inflammatory response that occurs when the body overreacts to an infection. They're finding that COVID-19 patients that suffered from sepsis and received vitamin C responded significantly better than those who did not.

The best sources of vitamin C are found in fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus (lemons and oranges) and green leafy vegetables. But do yourself a favor and get a high-quality vitamin C supplement and begin supplementing with it daily. It's not so much about how much you take, but more about taking it consistently. You can find it at almost every drugstores or grocery store, or you can have it drop shipped right to your door step.

  2. Digestive Enzymes:

Most people are familiar with digestive enzymes. They basically help to digest food correctly, allowing the cells of the body to absorb nutrients and change things on a physical level. Digestive enzmes convert carbohydrate, fat, lipids, and protein molecules thousands, if not millions, of times faster than what it would typically take, which in many cases is very critical in keeping us alive and healthy.

Digestive enzymes are mainly produced by the body. However we also acquire digestive enzymes from the food we eat. Raw fruits and vegetables, and foods that have been naturally fermented, are high in natural occuring enzymes, such as protease, lipase, amylase, cellulase, and disaccharidase.

The problem is that if you cook or heat your food above 118º, all or most of the enzymes in the food will be destroyed. Also, any food that has been pasteurized, canned, or microwaved has had their enzymes destroyed.

During Spring 2020, even if you're going to be eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, and fermented foods, it is essential to include a broad spectrum enzyme supplement in your diet. Be sure it includes protease enzymes (aka proteolytic or fibrinolytic enzymes). These enzymes digest proteins from foods, especially animal-derived foods, which help keep the blood more alkaline and less conducive to infections. They also play an important role in immune system function by aiding the digestion of the protein coating of certain viruses and bacteria, thereby exposing them to immune cells.

  3. Colon Cleansing Herbal Formula:

Many people do not consider sluggish bowels or constipation as a possible source of health problems or as a means for preventing disease. But cleaning the colon is the primary step for moving into a healthy physical state and keeping your immune system strong.

Up to 70% of your immune system resides in the wall of the colon, making the colon a key component of your immune system. An unbalanced bacterial flora can shift the immune system to an increased inflammatory state that then affects other body systems and increases your risk of acquiring disease.

There are many colon cleansing herbal formulas on the market, with some being very mild while others have a strong downward purging action. I personally like to use a formula called Parisidal Formula from the Support the Mountain label. It consists of Artemisa absynthium, Artemisia annuae, pumpkin seeds, black walnut hulls (green), turkey rhubarb, cascara sagrada, and powdered cloves. This formula not only supports cleaning the bowels of excesssive catarrh (mucus) and other toxic matter, but it has the added bonus of killing parasties in the small and large intestines, including the parasitic eggs, that may be stealing essential nutrients from your body.

  4. Huang Lian Jie Du Tang (Coptis Combination to Relieve Toxicity):

This is a classical Chinese Medicine herbal formula first described in the treatise Wai Tai Mi Yao in the Tang dynasty (752 CE). For centuries is has been a representative prescription for reducing the virulence and neutralizing the toxicity caused by infectious diseases (Heat and toxins). This is the base formula for syndromes resulting from the process of external pathogens entering the internal organs.

Coptis Combination to Relieve Toxicity shows the ability to dispel Heat and Fire-Poison and relieve associated syndromes. It contains four common crude herbs, Rhizoma Coptidis (Huang lian), Radix Scutellariae (Huang Qin), Cortex Phellodendri (Huang Bai), and Fructus Gradeniae (Zhi Zi) in a ratio of 3:2:2:3. Modern clinical applications include septicemia, pneumonia, prophylactic against post-surgical infection, and herpes, and others.

This formula can be purchased online, but be sure to get it from a quality manufacturer. It should not be taken in regular or large doses without accurate diagnosis. Caution if you're using during pregnancy or breastfeeding as some of the herbs may disrupt cause complications. May be used in small daily doses as a general prophylactic.

  5. Pu Ji Xiao Du Yin (Universal Benefit Combination to Eliminate Toxin):

This is another classical Chinese Medicine herbal formula. It was first described in Dong Heng Shi Xiao Fang in the Song dynasty (1266 CE). This is one of the best general herbal antibiotic formulas to treat infectious and contagious diseases (bacterial and viral infections), particaularly those affecting head and throat. Numerous herbs in this formula have shown marked in vitro and in vivo antibacterial and antiviral effects.

The name "Pu Ji Xiao Du Yin" literally means “Universal Benefit Decoction to Eliminate Toxins,” which implies that this formula treats everyone ( it has a "universal benefit") with infectious diseases (Heat and toxins). It is actually a modification of the above formula, Coptis Combination to Relieve Toxicity. It includes the herbs Radix Scutellariae (Huang Qin), Rhizoma Coptidis (Huang Lian), Fructus Arctii (Niu Bang Zi), Fructus Forsythiae (Lian Qiao), Herba Menthae (Bo He), Bombyx Batryticatus (Jiang Can), Radix Scrophulariae (Xuan Shen), Lasiosphaera seu Calvatia (Ma Bo), Radix Isatidis (Ban Lan Gen), Radix Platycodonis (Jie Geng), Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chen Pi), Rhizoma Cimicifugae (Sheng Ma), Radix Bupleuri (Chai Hu), and Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng (Ren Shen).

This formula can also easily be purchased online, but again be sure to get it from a quality manufacturer. Not to be taken in regular or large doses without accurate diagnosis. Caution should also be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. May be used in small daily doses as a general prophylactic or as antiseptic gargling solution.
