How I Work With Clients

The way that I work with clients differs significantly from the typical way you may be accustomed to receiving healthcare. Please read the following information thoroughly to familiarize yourself with how I offer treatment.

Be sure to also read the section towards the bottom of the page that describes the fee structure.


What Type of Clients Do Best Under My Care

I can help clients with a wide range of physical and mental health problems, from allergies, digestive disorders, musculoskeletal problems, and chronic infections, to autoimmune disease, mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. I also help clients interested in promoting and supporting wellness.

Clients who do best under my care:

  • Don’t want to solely rely on unnecessary use of drugs and medical intervention
  • Are interested in discovering the underlying cause of their problems, instead of suppressing symptoms
  • Are motivated to play an active role in their own healing process
  • Are willing to make the necessary dietary and lifestyle changes to support health and well-being

How I Provide Treatment

I embrace an integrative and functional medicine approach to care, with an emphasis on managing stress and sleep through the use of acupuncture, nutrition, herbal medicine, meditation, and exercise.

As a new client, your treatment is broken into three parts:

  1. Initial Visit
  2. Follow-up Visits
  3. Case Review (if needed)

Each part is described below in more detail.

Part 1: Your Initial Visit

Your Initial Visit is a comprehensive appointment that includes:

  • a thorough consultation so I can learn about your health history, symptoms, and personal health goals
  • an examination of various body systems and functions
  • your first acupuncture treatment, including any related treatment (ie cupping, massage, etc)
  • a problem-focused consultation for dietary and lifestyle modification, including the use of supplements

 

Your Treatment Plan

At your First Visit, I will set out a timeline of care involving acupuncture and related therapies, as well as dietary and lifestyle modifications, and use of herbal medicine and nutritional supplements as needed. Your treatment plan will be carried out across a specific number of Follow-Up Visits.

Please Note: Your first acupuncture treatment will be provided during your Initial Visit.

 

Part 2: Follow-up Visits

Based on the treatment plan established during your Initial Visit, Follow-up Visits consist of 60-minute, 90-minute, or 120-minute appointments.

Follow-up Visits include:

  1. Acupuncture treatment by itself, or in combination with diet, herbal medicine, and/ or lifestyle consulting.
    • or
  2. Diet, herbal medicine, and/ or lifestyle consulting without acupuncture treatment.

Ongoing Follow-up Visits are scheduled on an as-needed basis throughout the remainder of your treatment plan. At each visit, we will review your progress on the treatment plan and make additional recommendations as necessary.

Please Note: The length and frequency of your Follow-up Visits will depend upon the severity of your condition as well as your response to the treatment.

 

Part 3: Case Review (if needed)

The Case Review is recommended for people with complex health conditions that require a more broad and detailed analysis that what can be done during your First Visit or Follow-Up Visits. In these instances, you will be recommended for a Case Review. The goal is to target the underlying root factors influencing your health and lay out a more detailed and personalized treatment plan.

The Case Review includes:

  • in-depth research, analysis and review of your condition, including relevant lab testing
  • comprehensive consultation for dietary and lifestyle modifcation, including the use of supplements

Initial Visit-

  • 90-minutes: $140

Follow-ups-

  • Basic (60 min): $80
  • Expanded, (90 min): $100
  • Comprehensive (120 min): $120

Cupping Massage-

  • Basic (30 min): $40
  • Expanded (60 min): $80

Case Review-

  • 90 (min): $180

All payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash and all major credit cards. Herbs and nutritional supplements sold separately. Local house calls/ concierge services available for additional fees. For more information, please call (818) 850-3050.


Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you accept insurance for payment?

  • A: I am an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans that provide acupuncture   benefits. To learn more or to begin the insurance verification process, please send me a message.

However bear in mind, due to several limitations and restrictions commonly associated with acupuncture coverage and the difficulty in collecing fair and reasonable payment from insurance companies in a timely manner, I typically do not accept insurance for payment.

More commonly I provide clients with a medical invoice after each appointment showing what was paid to my office. Clients then submit the invoice to their insurance company to begin the claims process directly with them for direct reimbursement based on the terms of their policy.

Q: Do you accept payment plans?

  • A: No, we do not have payment plans.

Q: Can you help my specific condition?

  • A: We can help improve a wide variety of interrelated signs and symptoms and biomedically defined diseases primarily by addressing underlying conditions of poor health such as disorders of the digestive system, or immune system, or nutrient imbalances, etc. The best way to find out if we can help with your specific condition is to schedule an Initial Visit by calling 818-850-3050 or send us a message.

Becoming a new client is easy:

  1. Schedule your Initial Visit by calling 818-850-3050 or send us a message.
  2. Receive and fill in "New Client" paperwork (can be filled in at your appointment).
  3. Submit paperwork and any other relevant information (ie lab results) at your Initial Visit.
